Basketball Recap: Sylacauga Takes a Loss

Sylacauga was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 46-26 to the Briarwood Christian Lions. While losing is never fun, the Aggies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 247th, while the Lions are ranked 63rd).

Briarwood Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Emma Kerley out in front who went 6 of 12 en route to 18 points. Another player making a difference was Ann Tatum Baker, who posted 14 points.

Sylacauga's defeat dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Briarwood Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a massive bump to their 17-9 record this season.

Sylacauga will look to defend their home court on Monday against Shelby County at 6:00 p.m. Briarwood Christian has already played their next game, a 50-36 victory against Central of Clay County on the 24th.
