Recap: Vanlue Wildcats vs. Ridgemont Golden Gophers
Sadly, the Vanlue Wildcats are still looking for their first win of the season after 15 contests. They were beaten by Ridgemont 72-29 on Saturday. Vanlue was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Ridgemont apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Vanlue lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Cam King, who scored seven points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Czarnecki, who scored six points along with two steals.
Vanlue dropped their record down to 0-15 with that loss, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Ridgemont, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Vanlue will face off against Cardinal Stritch at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Vanlue is facing Cardinal Stritch at the right time seeing as Cardinal Stritch is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Ridgemont, they and Cory-Rawson will face off at 6:45 p.m. on February 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. One thing working in Ridgemont's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six contests.
