Recap: Highline Pirates vs. Evergreen Wolverines
The Highline Pirates scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They greeted the New Year with with a 79-63 win over Evergreen. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Leading Highline to victory were Kelvin Stuart and Corey Crosby. Stuart went 6 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 22 points and 2 assists, while Crosby dropped a double-double on 15 points and 19 rebounds. The contest was Crosby's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Marquawn Mccraney, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds and six assists.
Highline's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-8. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.3 points per game. As for Evergreen, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-5.
Coincidentally, Highline and Evergreen will both be playing Foster the next time they take the court. Evergreen will head out to face Foster at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, while Highline will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
