It was a proper cat-fight when North Park duked it out with Hayden on Saturday. The Wildcats fell 3-1 to the Tigers. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since September 15, 2023, but that streak is no more.
North Park started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 16-25, 27-25, 25-17, 25-23.
Despite the defeat, North Park got top-tier performance from Jacie Schneider, who had 13 digs, six kills, two blocks, and two aces. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Baugh, who had 12 digs.
Hi-Plains not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since September 27th (when they won 3-0). They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Lone Star.
Hi-Plains never let Lone Star on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-22, 25-20.
Hi-Plains' win bumped their record up to 15-5. As for North Park, their loss dropped their record down to 3-18.
North Park might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Hi-Plains when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
