Softball Recap: Father Ryan Takes a Loss

Father Ryan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 15-3 to the Lipscomb Academy Mustangs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Irish of the 15-5 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Father Ryan's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Lipscomb Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.

Father Ryan will challenge Pope John Paul II at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Irish's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Knights have averaged an impressive 9.3 runs per game this season. As for Lipscomb Academy, they will be playing at home against Christ Presbyterian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Lions will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Mustangs surely won't give up without a fight.
