Volleyball Recap: Independence Comes Up Short

Independence was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 3-1 to the Berkshire Badgers. The Blue Devils were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Badgers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

The 3-1 score doesn't really reflect how close the match was: every set was decided by three points or less. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 26-24, 22-25, 25-22.

Independence's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Berkshire, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Independence is set to challenge their familiar foe Villa Angela-St. Joseph at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Berkshire will face off against rival Chardon at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
