Basketball Recap: Goose Creek's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Goose Creek extended their winning streak to six on Friday, bumping them up to 6-0. They came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 62-58 W against the Ridge View Blazers. For the Gators, this counts as revenge for the 56-47 victory the Blazers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2016.

Goose Creek found their leader in freshman Madeline Dates, who dropped a double-double with 23 points and 14 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Dates has scored at least a third of the Gators' points. Another player making a difference was Celeste Griffin, who posted 12 points and four steals.

As for Ridge View, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3. On the bright side, the 58- point performance marked their highest-scoring contest to date.

When it comes to explaining why Ridge View lost, don't look at Emani English. Despite the final result, she earned 11 points and eight boards. Reagan Ferguson was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Coming up, Goose Creek will challenge Beaufort at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Ridge View, they have already played their next game, a 45-31 win against River Bluff on the 6th.
