Volleyball Recap: Ann Sobrato Takes a Loss

Ann Sobrato came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 3-0 to the Aptos Mariners. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Bulldogs haven't been shut out since back in September.

Rae Barua paced Ann Sobrato's offense, picking up 11 kills. Barua got some help from Jordan Bouton and her 20 assists. Bouton was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Ann Sobrato has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-17 record this season. As for Aptos, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-11 record this season.

Ann Sobrato didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Westmont on the 21st. As for Aptos, they will square off against Mt. Madonna at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
