Salpointe Catholic won against Walden Grove last Thursday with 16 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Lancers put the hurt on the Ironwood Ridge Nighthawks with a sharp 16-3 victory. Considering the Lancers have won eight matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on David Driskill, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Rowan Sparks, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

Driskill wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Salpointe Catholic kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive contests.

Salpointe Catholic's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-0-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.4 runs over those games. As for Ironwood Ridge, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-5.

Salpointe Catholic will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Nighthawks: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
