Central has gone 8-1 against Chrisman recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Indians will be playing at home against the Bears at 4:00 p.m. Chrisman took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Central, who comes in off a win.
Central's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Ruskin with a sharp 16-0 victory. That looming 16-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Indians yet this season.
Eliezer Cuba looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits.
At the plate, Matt Deatherage was a standout: he went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Pete Berry was another key player, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.
Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. The last time their batting average was this high was back in May of 2025.
Meanwhile, Chrisman didn't have quite enough to beat Fort Osage on Monday and fell 3-2. The matchup marked the Bears' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.
Chrisman also got a good showing from Brayden Adair, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
On the hitting side, Chrisman saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Dillard, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Central has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Chrisman, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5.
Thursday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Central has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .472. However, it's not like Chrisman struggles in that department as they've averaged .492. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Central came out on top in a nail-biter against Chrisman when the teams last played back in April of 2025, sneaking past 2-0. Do the Indians have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bears turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
