Northwest Christian is 6-1 against Kingman since March of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Northwest Christian Crusaders will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Kingman Bulldogs at 3:45 p.m.
Northwest Christian's tournament run continued when they took on Paradise Valley on Saturday. Northwest Christian took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of Paradise Valley. The Crusaders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Kingman put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 6-2 victory over Cactus. While the Bulldogs didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Taelon Thomason was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only a hit while striking out seven over six innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one triple and two RBI. That triple marked the first that he hit this season.
In other batting news, Canton Collins was a standout: he scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those stolen bases marked the first that he stole this season. Another player making a difference was Albert Lopez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2.
Kingman always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cactus only posted an OBP of .174.
Kingman's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Northwest Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
