Baseball Recap: Franklin Snaps Three-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Franklin got themselves on the board against Summit on Monday, but Summit never followed suit. They came out on top against the Spartans by a score of 3-0. The game was the first time the Admirals have beaten the Spartans on their field since April 22, 2019.

Franklin got a great performance from Davis Williams as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over 6.2 innings pitched. Williams also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Admirals are undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 5-16 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Andrew Dixon, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March.

Franklin's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-16. As for Summit, their loss dropped their record down to 12-9.

Franklin will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Spartans: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
