Plainfield East entered their tilt with Plainfield South on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Cougars. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Jocelyn Cushard spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on four hits and racked up 12 Ks.

At the plate, Plainfield East's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Iliana Smith, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Another was Natalie Utrata, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one double.

Plainfield East's victory bumped their record up to 19-11. As for Plainfield South, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 16-13.
