Football Recap: Sam Houston Takes a Loss

Sam Houston extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to four on Friday, dropping them down to 0-3. They were beaten by the Victoria West Warriors 39-0. Having soared to a lofty 39 points in the game before, the Hurricanes' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

As for Victoria West, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 11.7 points on average this season.

Victoria West had a senior duo take command as Nolan Boyce rushed for 97 yards and one TD on only 12 carries and Jenesis Jeffries rushed for 102 yards and one touchdown.

Looking ahead, Sam Houston will be playing in front of their home fans against Tivy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Victoria West, they are taking a road trip to challenge Jones at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
