While Buford's victory against Chesterfield wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Buford narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Chesterfield 3-1. The three-run effort marked the Yellow Jackets' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Buford saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jayden Mckenzie, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Buford hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in four consecutive games.

Buford pushed their record up to 8-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Chesterfield, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-4.
