Basketball Recap: Asheboro Takes a Loss

Asheboro was the 49-38 winner over Eastern Randolph when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Asheboro Blue Comets received a blow on Friday as they fell 47-32 to the Eastern Randolph Wildcats. The Blue Comets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Eastern Randolph to victory, but perhaps none more so than Raegan Beaver, who posted 14 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Callie Craven was another key player, putting up 11 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Asheboro's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Eastern Randolph, their victory ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-7.

Asheboro wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 61-17 loss against Oak Grove on the 7th. Eastern Randolph has also already played their next contest, a 63-37 defeat against Southwestern Randolph on the 7th.
