Soccer Game Preview: Harnett Central vs. Lee County

Harnett Central hasn't had much luck against Lee County recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Trojans will look to defend their home pitch against the Yellow Jackets at 6:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Harnett Central comes in on five and Lee County on nine.

Harnett Central gave up the first goal on Wednesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past West Johnston 2-1. The game was the first time Harnett Central have beaten West Johnston on their pitch since October 14, 2015.

Kevin Plancarte-Reyes and Ivan Coella scored both of Harnett Central's goals, bringing their combined season tally to ten goals.

Meanwhile, Lee County kept a clean sheet against Cape Fear on Thursday. They came out on top against the Colts by a score of 2-0. Lee County's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three contests.

Harnett Central's win bumped their record up to 12-3-2. As for Lee County, their victory bumped their record up to 15-6.
