Volleyball Recap: Natalee Simmons and Ruthie Sheffield Secure Win for Woodruff

Woodruff posted their closest victory since October 21, 2024 on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Greenwood Christian Hawks 2-1. The victory was familiar territory for the Wolverines, who have now won three matches in a row.

Leading Woodruff to victory were Ruthie Sheffield and Natalee Simmons. Sheffield had 22 digs and two aces, while Simmons had 12 assists and nine digs. What's more, Sheffield posted three kills, the most she's had since back in September of 2024.

Woodruff's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Greenwood Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.

Woodruff wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Fountain Inn on the 28th. As for Greenwood Christian, they have also already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Emerald on the 26th.
