Volleyball Recap: Macarthur Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

MacArthur had already won four in a row and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They came out on top against the Bard Falcons by a score of 2-0. The Mammoths have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Falcons, too.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: MacArthur took both sets by at least 17 points. The final score came out to 25-3, 25-8.

MacArthur was led to victory by Carmen Glynn and Nahla Savoy. Glynn had 15 aces, while Savoy had nine aces. Those 15 aces gave Glynn a new career-high. Summer Thompson also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

They weren't the only good servers: MacArthur was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 37 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 11 aces every time they've taken the court this season.

MacArthur's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Bard, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8.

Looking ahead, MacArthur will venture away from home to square off against Maret at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Bard, they will square off against Phelps Architecture, Construction & Engineering at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
