Recap: Stratford Spartans vs. Memorial Mustangs

The Stratford Spartans had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 45 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They strolled past Memorial with points to spare, taking the game 24-10. This was payback for Stratford, who suffered a 23-16 defeat the last time these two teams met.

It was another big night for Aaron Deleon, who threw for 279 yards and two touchdowns. Luke Rives was another key contributor, picking up 94 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Stratford's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Leading the way was Nicolas Sen and his two sacks.

Stratford's win was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 6-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 42.0 points per game. As for Memorial, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.

Stratford will head out on the road to face off against Jersey Village at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Memorial, they will be playing at home against Cy-Fair at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Cy-Fair's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last seven matches.
