Basketball Recap: Rushford-Peterson Takes Down Mabel-Canton in a Playoff Battle

It's playoff time, and Rushford-Peterson had no trouble coming through when it counted. They blew past the Mabel-Canton Cougars 81-33 on Thursday. The Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 17 contests by 22 points or more this season.

When it comes to explaining why Mabel-Canton lost, don't look at Isaac Underbakke. Despite the final result, he shot 4-for-5 from deep and dropped a double-double with 18 points and ten rebounds. Underbakke continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

The win (which was Rushford-Peterson's fifth in a row) raised their record to 22-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 86.6 points over those games. As for Mabel-Canton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-18 record this season.

As of now, neither Rushford-Peterson nor Mabel-Canton have any future games scheduled.
