Basketball Game Preview: Mary Walker Chargers vs. Valley Christian Panthers

Mary Walker hasn't had much luck against Valley Christian recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Mary Walker Chargers will square off against the Valley Christian Panthers at 6:00 p.m.

Mary Walker is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 13th straight game dating back to last season on Saturday. They lost 45-24 to Republic. While losing is never fun, the Chargers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 337th, while the Tigers are ranked 116th).

Valley Christian played in conference for the first time on Friday and they got just the result they we're looking for. They rang in the new year with a 44-36 victory over Northport. The Panthers didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this win makes it their second in a row.

Mary Walker's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Valley Christian, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-8.

Mary Walker took a serious blow against Valley Christian in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 53-26. Can Mary Walker avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
