Basketball Recap: Everglades Comes Up Short

If Everglades was riding high fresh off their 69-40 takedown of Taravella on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Gators lost 67-45 to the Chaminade-Madonna Lions on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Gators can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 286th, while the Lions are ranked 128th).

Despite the loss, Everglades still got an impressive performance from Jaelan Glasford, who shot 46% from the field on his way to 20 points and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Odean Gilmore, who posted seven points and five rebounds.

Everglades' loss dropped their record down to 2-3. As for Chaminade-Madonna, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.

Everglades wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 59-58 win against Westwood Christian on the 12th. As for Chaminade-Madonna, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 66-46 defeat against NSU University on the 12th.
