Basketball Recap: 15 Straight Home Victories for Paradise Honors

Paradise Honors came tearing into Thursday's game with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 51.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Greenway Demons 63-23. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 49th, while the Demons are ranked 147th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Paradise Honors to victory were Lizzy Guincho and Morgan Van Dyke. Guincho posted 14 points along with seven steals and six boards, while Van Dyke earned 12 points and eight steals. Van Dyke is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Jocelyn Leal was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Paradise Honors smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in nine consecutive matches.

Paradise Honors' win was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-4. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.8 points per game. As for Greenway, they moved to 10-7 with that defeat, which also ended their six-game winning streak.
