            Baseball Recap: Heide Trask Titans vs. Pender Patriots        
        
		
        
        
            Heide Trask had lost three games on the road, but after bumping their record up to 6-16  on Thursday that streak is in the rearview. They won by a  run and slipped past the Pender Patriots  7-6. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won  2-1  on Tuesday.

Heide Trask got a great performance from  Jackson Sadler as he  didn't allow a single  earned run and  allowed only two  hits while striking out eight over 5.1 innings pitched. Sadler is becoming a predictor of the Titans' success: when he posts  at  least eight  strikeouts the team is undefeated (and 3-16 when he doesn't).
 On the hitting side,  Matix Wiler was  incredible,  going 1-for-3 with one  home run, two  runs,  and two  RBI.  Trey Cheatham was another key player,  going 2-for-3 with three  runs and one  stolen base.
As for Pender,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 5-15. Even worse, they were so close both times: the  defeats came by an average of only one runs.
On Pender's side,  Tyler Conger put in work no matter where he played. He  struck out 12 batters over  6.2 innings while giving up  four earned  (and three unearned) runs off   nine  hits. Conger has been consistent recently: he hasn't  tossed less than seven  strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box,  going 1-for-4 with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  double.
 In other batting news,  Mark Rawls was cooking despite his team's loss,   going 2-for-4 with two  stolen bases and one  run.  Carter Brown also deserves some recognition as  he  got his first  hit of the season.
As of now, neither Heide Trask nor Pender have any future games scheduled.
