Basketball Recap: Beachside Drops Season-High Score on Bolles

Beachside scored the most points they've had this season on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough. They fell 90-78 to the Bolles Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Barracudas can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 130th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 13th).

When it comes to explaining why Beachside lost, don't look at Morgan Cremen. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 steals. Cremen is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last 14 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendall Kane, who went 8 for 13 on her way to 23 points and five assists.

Leading Bolles to victory were Evie Freeman and Abby Knauff. Freeman dropped a double-double on 22 points and 14 rebounds, while Knauff went 7 of 10 en route to 19 points. The dominant performance gave Freeman a new career-high in boards. Leila Goll was another key player, putting up nine points and seven rebounds.

Beachside has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.1 points per game. As for Bolles, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 16-5.

Beachside will challenge Andrew Jackson at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Bolles, they will face off against San Jose Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
