Baseball Game Preview: Bandera BULLDOGS vs. Devine Warhorses

The Bandera BULLDOGS will face off against the Devine Warhorses at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Bandera has five straight victories, Devine has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Bandera will bounce into Friday's match after beating Hondo, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Bandera walked away with a 13-8 win over Hondo on Friday. The game was the first time the BULLDOGS have beaten the Owls on their field since April 17, 2018.

Meanwhile, Devine suffered their biggest loss since February 29, 2024 on Tuesday. They lost 12-2 to Pleasanton.

Bandera's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-7-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Devine, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-8-1.

Bandera was able to grind out a solid win over Devine when the teams last played back in March of 2024, winning 6-3. Will Bandera repeat their success, or does Devine have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
