Football Recap: Mount de Sales Academy Takes a Loss

Mount de Sales Academy managed to slip by Calvary Christian the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Cavaliers lost 34-14 to the Knights on Friday. The Cavaliers were up 14-0 in the first quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Calvary Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nate Stokes led the charge by rushing for 72 yards and two touchdowns. Those 72 rushing yards gave Stokes a new career-high. Braxton Wilkinson was another key signal caller, throwing for 178 yards and one TD.

Mount de Sales Academy dropped their record down to 0-3 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Calvary Christian, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mount de Sales Academy will welcome Terrell Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Calvary Christian, they will host Tattnall Square Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
