Baseball Recap: Brunswick's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak at Home

Brunswick dropped their record down to 8-5 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins at home. They fell just short of the Morse Shipbuilders by a score of 5-4. If the Dragons were looking for revenge after losing 4-3 to the Shipbuilders when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Bo Marini made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Allan Swain was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

As for Morse, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-5. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games.

On Morse's side, Jackson Murray was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four stolen bases and three runs. Those four hits gave Murray a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Colin Verrill, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Brunswick wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 9-2 victory against Bangor on the 30th. As for Morse, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 16-1 win against Lincoln Academy on the 2nd.
