Softball Recap: Heide Trask Makes It Seven in a Row at Home

While Heide Trask's victory against Whiteville wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Heide Trask Titans narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Whiteville Wolfpack 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Titans have posted since April 23, 2024.

Dava Bullard made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Naima Shepard was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and one double.

Heide Trask was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Heide Trask pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 7.4 runs. As for Whiteville, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Heide Trask will head out to challenge Whiteville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Whiteville, they will venture away from home to face off against Lumberton at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
