Baseball Preview: Clairemont Chieftains vs. Scripps Ranch Falcons        
        
		
            
 The Clairemont Chieftains will head out on the road to  face off against  the Scripps Ranch Falcons at 4:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. Clairemont is no doubt hoping to put an end to  a four-game streak of away losses.
 Clairemont's pitching crew heads into the  contest  hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed  on Friday. They came out on top against Mission Bay by a score of  1-0 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).
 Not much got past  Christian Garcia, who gave up just  three  hits and racked up 12 Ks to keep Mission Bay off the board.
 On the hitting side, Clairemont's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was  Colton Daudet, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-4.
 Meanwhile, Scripps Ranch had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2.5 runs), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came out on top against the Vikings by a score of  7-3.
  Jesse Dawson and  Jordan Green made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing,  Dawson   tossed two innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   two  hits. Meanwhile,  Green   pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off   four  hits. Dawson has been consistent recently: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in four consecutive pitching appearances. At bat,  Dawson  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 1-for-4, while  Green  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 3-for-3.
 In other batting news,  Daniel Lee was  excellent,  scoring two  runs while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of  Dylan Schwarz, who  scored a  run and  stole two bases while going 1-for-3.
 Clairemont's victory  ended  a  four-game drought at home  and  bumped them up to 14-11-1. As for Scripps Ranch, they have  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won eight of their last nine matchups,  which provided a nice bump to their 12-14 record  this season.
 Clairemont might still be hurting after the  12-4 loss they got from Scripps Ranch  when the teams last played  back in April of 2023. Can Clairemont avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
