Volleyball Recap: Pittsburg Wins Going Away Against Benicia

Pittsburg not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 25, 2024. Everything went their way against the Benicia Panthers as Pittsburg made off with a 3-0 win. This was payback for the Pirates, who suffered a 3-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Pittsburg was especially dominant in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-14, 25-22.

Pittsburg had a senior duo take command as Angel Garcia had 19 assists and ten digs and Angel Lozano De La Cruz had 16 assists and three digs. Those 19 assists set a new season-high mark for Garcia. Kenzo Macasa also deserves some recognition as he had his first kills of the season.

Pittsburg was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. They are a perfect 3-0 when they serve at least ten aces.

Pittsburg's record is now 5-11. As for Benicia, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-10.

Pittsburg wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Berean Christian on the 25th. As for Benicia, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Alhambra on the 25th.
