It was a good run, but Putnam unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell just short of Sports & Medical Sciences Academy/Bulkeley by a score of 3-2. The Clippers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Sports & Medical Sciences Academy/Bulkeley apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Sports & Medical Sciences Academy/Bulkeley scored at least nine points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-22, 25-19, 18-25, 15-9.

Sawyer Britt paced Putnam's offense, picking up nine kills. Britt got some help from Rhaiden Albino and his 28 assists. Finally, Sean Stamp kept Putnam's defense grounded, leading the team with seven blocks.

Putnam's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Sports & Medical Sciences Academy/Bulkeley, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Putnam wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 victory against Woodstock Academy on the 25th. As for Sports & Medical Sciences Academy/Bulkeley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against East Hartford on the 25th.
