Baseball Recap: Little River Academy Takes a Loss

Little River Academy came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 12-6 to the Rogers Eagles. The Bumblebees were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

Brian Grissom was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-2. He has become a key player for Little River Academy: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 5-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jamie Chipman, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4.

Little River Academy now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Rogers, their victory bumped their record up to 9-3-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Little River Academy will head out to square off against C.H. Yoe at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rogers will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Thrall at 7:00 p.m. on March 25th.
