Volleyball Recap: Edison Takes a Loss

Edison and Mater Dei squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Edison had to settle for second. They fell 3-1 to the Monarchs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Monarchs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in February.

Mater Dei found their leader in sophomore Beck Schobel, who had eight digs and two aces.

Edison's defeat dropped their record down to 14-17. As for Mater Dei, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-12-2 record this season.

Edison does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mater Dei, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against St. Francis on the 10th.
