Softball Recap: Independent Athletic Ministries Wins Going Away Against Hampton

Independent Athletic Ministries never let their opponents score on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Hampton Bulldogs with a sharp 12-0 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 11-3 last Friday.

Independent Athletic Ministries has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs this season. As for Hampton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.

Hampton will take on Chuckey-Doak at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Black Knights have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.54 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of. Independent Athletic Ministries will be paying especially close attention to Hampton's matchup: after Hampton faces off against Johnson County, they'll take on Independent Athletic Ministries again at 4:30 p.m. on the 21st.
