Basketball Recap: Gilmer Comes Up Short

Gilmer was the 63-52 winner over Fannin County when they last played one another last Saturday, but their luck changed this time around. The Gilmer Bobcats lost to the Fannin County Rebels at home by a 71-57 margin on Monday.

When it comes to explaining why Gilmer lost, don't look at Keegen Bryant. Despite the final result, he posted 19 points in addition to six boards and five assists. Another player making a difference was Boston Teague, who went 5 for 8 on his way to 13 points.

Gilmer's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Fannin County, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gilmer will host LaFayette at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Fannin County, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Dalton Academy at 7:30 p.m. Fannin County is facing Dalton Academy at the right time seeing as Dalton Academy is stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
