Football Game Preview: Tonkawa Buccaneers vs. Minco Bulldogs + Official Tickets

The Tonkawa Buccaneers will face off against the Minco Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Tonkawa comes in on eight and Minco on five.

Tonkawa is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Haskell 40-7. The result was nothing new for the Buccaneers, who have now won eight games by 21 points or more so far this season.

Tonkawa's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cayden Duvall, who picked up 166 receiving yards and three TDs. Duvall really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 70 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Cason Johnson, who threw for 212 yards and three touchdowns while completing 88.9% of his passes.

Tonkawa didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Haskell to a completion percentage of just 38.9%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from six players: Junior Camp, Loudyn Alexander, Carter Lopeman, Zaden Frederick, Nehemiah Townley, and Kade Ditmore, who each logged one passes deflected. Tonkawa has been improving in that area: they had allowed a completion percentage of 0.61 earlier this season, but they've only allowed one of 0.61 in their last three games.

Meanwhile, Minco was able to grind out a solid win over Cashion on Friday, taking the game 24-14.

Tonkawa's victory bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Minco, their win bumped their record up to an identical 10-1.
