Volleyball Recap: Knoxville Central Starts Season with Win on the Road

Knoxville Central had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Union County Patriots on Monday. The Bobcats were shut out 3-0 the last time they took on the Patriots, so the Bobcats were just returning the favor.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Knoxville Central was: they took both sets by at least 11 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-13.

Jolie Sheddan was the offensive standout of the contest as she had six assists and five aces.

Sheddan wasn't the only good server: Knoxville Central was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces in eight consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Knoxville Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-2 victory against Clinton on the 19th. As for Union County, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Washburn on the 19th.
