Softball Recap: Cuyahoga Heights Has No Trouble Against Lutheran West

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Independence, Cuyahoga Heights was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 12-3 margin over the Lutheran West Longhorns. Considering the Red Wolves have won seven matches by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Skylar Sane spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on one hit and racked up 12 Ks.

At the plate, Cuyahoga Heights got a massive performance out of Addison Bohning, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs Bohning has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Sophia Meklemburg, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Cuyahoga Heights was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .452. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Cuyahoga Heights' victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-7. As for Lutheran West, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-8.

Cuyahoga Heights wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 16-0 win against Open Door Christian on the 8th. As for Lutheran West, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 16-1 loss against Magnificat on the 9th.
