Basketball Recap: Pamlico Christian Academy Mariners vs. Heritage Christian Academy Patriots

The Pamlico Christian Academy Mariners entered their tilt with the Heritage Christian Academy Patriots with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Pamlico Christian Academy snuck past the Patriots with a 48-42 win on Friday. That's another feather in the cap for Pamlico Christian Academy, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.

Pamlico Christian Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was James Howard out in front who scored 24 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Howard is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in the last nine games he's played. Another player making a difference was Zac Whitley, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.

Heritage Christian Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cody Buetow, who scored 14 points. Parker Buetow was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.

Pamlico Christian Academy's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-9.
