Soccer Game Preview: Skyline vs. Millbrook

Skyline hasn't had much luck against Millbrook recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Hawks are taking a road trip to take on the Pioneers at 7:00 p.m. Skyline has given up an average of 3.9 goals per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Skyline is headed into Monday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 12th straight game on Friday. They lost 6-0 to Handley. While losing is never fun, Skyline can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 277th, while Handley are ranked 29th).

Meanwhile, Millbrook entered their tilt with James Wood on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Colonels by a score of 3-1. That's two games straight that Millbrook have won by exactly two goals.

Millbrook's win bumped their record up to 8-6-1. As for Skyline, their loss dropped their record down to 1-15.

Skyline might still be hurting after the 8-0 defeat they got from Millbrook in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Hawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
