Softball Recap: Alonso Comes Up Short

Alonso lost against Newsome back in February of 2021, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Ravens came up short against the Wolves, falling 12-1. The Ravens have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Alonso saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Makenna Sturgis, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Alonso now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Newsome, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Alonso will challenge Chamberlain at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Ravens' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Storm have averaged an impressive 9.4 runs per game this season. As for Newsome, they will square off against Durant at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games the Cougars have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
