Softball Recap: Briarcrest Christian Comes Up Short

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Briarcrest Christian and Arlington have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Thursday. The Saints came up short against the Tigers, falling 8-2. The Saints haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Briarcrest Christian saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grace Gleason, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Briarcrest Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 5-18. As for Arlington, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-11-2 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Briarcrest Christian will take on Collierville at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Arlington, they will face off against St. Benedict at Auburndale at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
