Basketball Game Preview: Dayton Bulldogs vs. Oakesdale Nighthawks

Having just played yesterday, the Dayton Bulldogs will get right back to it and host the Oakesdale Nighthawks at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Dayton is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Pomeroy on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Dayton was beaten by Pomeroy 50-11. The contest marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Oakesdale waltzed into their match on Monday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with a 61-48 win over the Panthers.

Oakesdale is also on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.5 points per game. As for Dayton, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season.

Things could have been worse for Dayton, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 58-40 loss to Oakesdale when the teams last played back in December of 2024.
