Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Clayton Gannon and Ronin Young Lead Colonial Christian to Victory

Colonial Christian came into Friday's matchup having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past the Heritage Hall Christian Patriots 68-42 on Friday. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Cougars had established a 25 point advantage.

Colonial Christian was led to victory by Ronin Young and Clayton Gannon. Young dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 boards, while Gannon went 7 of 17 en route to 17 points along with eight assists and five rebounds. That's the most rebounds Gannon has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Andrew Sluder, who posted nine points in addition to seven boards and three blocks.

Colonial Christian's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 4-8. As for Heritage Hall Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 4-8.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Tabernacle Christian the next time they take the court. Colonial Christian will head out to face Tabernacle Christian at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday, while Heritage Hall Christian will head out to face them at 7:15 p.m. on February 7th.
