Baseball Recap: Daniel Boone's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Daniel Boone took a six-run loss the last time they faced off against Science Hill, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Trailblazers skirted past the Hilltoppers 3-1. The win was nothing new for the Trailblazers as they're now sitting on three straight.

Braydon Norton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on T J Leonard, who scored a run while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Clay Rowland was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Daniel Boone's victory bumped their record up to 14-3-1. As for Science Hill, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-5 record.

Daniel Boone and Science Hill should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings. The Trailblazers will take on Unicoi County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (26 vs. 97). The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Daniel Boone 4, the Blue Devils 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Science Hill (ranked 18th) will meet Elizabethton (ranked 67th) at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
