Baseball Game Preview: Laurens Raiders vs. Westside Rams

The Laurens Raiders will venture away from home to face off against the Westside Rams at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Laurens had taken Westside down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Monday. Laurens took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of Westside.

For Westside's part, Tyler Scott was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts Scott has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

In other batting news, Jacob Holmes was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI. Brody Caudle also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

The win keeps them at an undefeated 6-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Laurens, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
