Basketball Recap: Christie Chicoye's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Mcarthur over Jensen Beach

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, McArthur couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They came up short against the Jensen Beach Falcons on Thursday, falling 60-38.

McArthur lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Christie Chicoye, who posted 11 points. She has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Soerayah Pradel was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Jensen Beach can attribute much of their success to Lizzie Fitzwater, who went 6-for-12 to rack up 19 points. That's the most points Fitzwater has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalie Tobiasz, who had nine points along with five rebounds and five steals.

McArthur's defeat dropped their record down to 17-7. As for Jensen Beach, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 21-6.

McArthur does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Jensen Beach, they will challenge Blanche Ely at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Blanche Ely's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three matches.
