Basketball Game Preview: Grace Prep Lions vs. Grapevine Faith Christian Lions

Grapevine Faith Christian will be up against a hot Grace Prep squad: the team just extended their winning streak to 11. Grace Prep breezed by Coram Deo Academy to the tune of 83-45 on Tuesday. Grace Prep pushed the score to 73-38 by the end of the third, a deficit Coram Deo Academy had no chance of recovering from.

Grace Prep's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Amari Coleman, who went 6 for 7 on his way to 17 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Coleman continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Oakley Sarshar, who went 7 of 11 en route to 17 points and six boards.

Meanwhile, Grapevine Faith Christian waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They took their game with ease, bagging a 78-43 win over the Eagles. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 200th, while the Eagles are ranked 804th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Grapevine Faith Christian is also on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 25-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 81.1 points per game. As for Grace Prep, they pushed their record up to 21-4 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home.

Grace Prep strolled past Grapevine Faith Christian when the teams last played on January 3rd by a score of 77-62. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Grapevine Faith Christian's Chase Leslie, who went 9 for 16 on his way to 21 points and five rebounds.
